Screen Printing Production Assistant is responsible for gathering products for each job and getting them ready for the printers.
Once shirts are printed SPPA(s) keep a close eye on quality and accuracy of printed garment, make sure counts are correct, stack neatly and box completed jobs. SPPA(s) may be asked to assist in other departments as needed.
This is physically demanding and the work environment gets very hot in the summer.
Screen Printing Production Assistant duties may include:
• Assisting with Set up and operate an automatic press
• Communicating successfully with co-workers
• Monitor quality of finished product
• Inspect printed item for print quality such as registration and pinholes
• Make sure each job is correct in number/product and boxed neatly for our customers
• Record necessary information/notes in job recordsPerforms job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.
• Continually learning new processes to increase efficiency as well as maintaining proficiency in operation of equipment
• Assist with housekeeping to maintain organization and cleanliness of department/work area
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by Printing Manager
• Assist with other production responsibilities (for example, reclaiming screens, taking inventory, assisting in filing, burning screens, etc)
Job Requirements:
Candidates must have their own method of dependable transportation and work flexible part time hours, as needed Monday through Friday. Overtime and work on weekends may be needed. Candidates must be able to stand for long periods of time, carry 50 lbs up 2 flights of steps & work in 90°+ temperatures in the summer. Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent
The ideal candidate maintains the following skills and characteristics:
• Effectively works in a team environment
• Display positive attitude at all times
• High attention to detail
• Lifting and standing for long periods of time
• Ability to follow instructions
• Actively listens and communicates effectively
• A proven history of delivering great quality work
• Ability to measure with a ruler, do simple math and subtraction
The following skills are ideal, but not necessary:
• Experience with screen printing processes (mixing ink, washing, coating and exposing screens)
• Experience with graphic design
• Working knowledge of Mechanical Maintenance & Repair
Pay Rate- $11-12/hr
